Tampa Clearinghouse SAP help

For FMCSA-regulated CDL drivers: understand SAP selection, progress reporting, and why completing an evaluation is not the same as clearing a violation.

First, confirm this applies to your job

The FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse applies to drivers covered by FMCSA’s drug and alcohol testing rules. Other DOT modes have their own requirements; a DOT violation does not automatically mean the FMCSA Clearinghouse is involved.

Selecting your SAP

Register or sign in through the official Clearinghouse website. After confirming your chosen SAP’s identifying information, use the driver account’s SAP designation process. The SAP must accept the designation to report the applicable SAP milestones.

Ask us for the correct SAP details before you designate a provider. You do not need to share your password with us.

Completing SAP does not erase the record

The SAP reports the applicable evaluation and eligibility milestones. Your employer or its authorized reporting agent handles the applicable return-to-duty result and follow-up testing completion reporting. Your Clearinghouse record is not simply deleted when you finish the follow-up evaluation.

Do not assume you may drive because an evaluation is complete. Check your Clearinghouse status and confirm the remaining requirements with your employer.

Changing employers?

Tell the new employer that you have a SAP follow-up testing plan. A job change does not cancel the remaining plan. The employer needs the appropriate records to continue administering required testing.
